of Cameras (fixed or zoom), DVR's for recording
and Monitors for display.
Cameras are available in Black and white or color
and are chosen based on the application and the
budget available. Usually color cameras are better
as they give life like quality picture. The fixed
focus camera is used for continuous monitoring
of certain areas. The zoom cameras help in focusing
on a particular object at a long distance. These
also come with a facility to rotate, pan and tilt,
for surveilling various areas.
Digital video recorders are used to record and
store the images captured by the various cameras
connected to it. The speed of recording can be
preset and a suitable Hard Disk can be selected
based on the duration of the storage required.
The DVR provides a facility for motion-based recording.
They are also web enabled so that multiple facility
integration becomes easier.
The monitor is used to view the images captured
by the camera. It provides the facility to view
multiple cameras or focus on one particular camera
if any untoward incident is noticed.
